Ancient Roman 20k Gold Carved Carnelian Chalice Ring

$2,700.00

Ancient Roman gold Carnelian ring, circa 600 AD, set with an intact engraved chalice intaglio, a symbol associated with early Christian iconography of the Late Roman period. Formed in high-karat ancient gold, the ring retains original surface patina and wear consistent with archaeological age.

The band exhibits historic bending and a small hairline fracture, characteristic of prolonged burial and centuries of use. Despite its age, the ring remains wearable with serious care, currently ring size US 7, though it should be regarded as a delicate object of antiquity rather than modern jewelry.

A rare surviving example of Late Roman personal adornment, suitable for a serious collector of ancient jewelry, early Christian artifacts, or wearable antiquities.

Test 21-22k on the XRF consistent with ancient handmade gold pieces during that time. 3.2 grams.
